Marc Guehi

The deal includes future sell-on incentives and an option for Chelsea to match any offers that Guehi could receive later down the line.

Armando Broja

Broja today has agreed to a new five-year contract for the Blues. This will see Broja stay at Stamford Bridge until 2026.

Broja had this to say about his new contract: “I want to build on these foundations and I am really looking forward to progressing and making an impact at Chelsea in the years to come”. (Chelsea FC)

Erling Haaland

Chelsea are leaving ‘no stone unturned’ in their pursuit of signing Erling Haaland but are yet to make an official offer.

Chelsea are yet to offer an official bid or even hold official talks with Dortmund and talks are being done through “intermediaries”.

Chelsea will remain keen on Haaland for the remainder of the transfer window and are attempting to work through middlemen to try and get the deal done. (Sky Sports Germany via Sport Witness)

Kingsley Coman and Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea are looking to engineer a swap deal with Bayern Munich that would see Kinglsey Coman come to Stamford Bridge and see Hudson-Odoi go to the Allianz.

For over two months the contract extension negotiations between Coman and Bayern have stalled, doubting a future at the club for the Frenchman. Their last meeting was 2 months ago, Coman’s agents demanded Sané’s wages (around €18m/yr). Bayern offered €13m/yr. Coman currently earns around €9m/yr.

Thomas Tuchel is reportedly a fan of Coman and the board are supposedly pushing the premise of including Hudson-Odoi in a deal.

However, Julian Nagelsmann is also a big fan of Kingsley Coman and is willing to try and keep him at Bayern.

Nagelsmann may be willing to keep the Frenchman but the club itself are willing to sell, citing a price of €90m to secure Coman’s services. (L’Équipe via GetFrenchFootballNews)

Ethan Ennis

Chelsea are interested in 16-year-old Liverpool prospect Ethan Ennis.

Ennis scored a 26 minute hat trick against Sutton United U18 in one of his most impressive performances in the FA Youth Cup this year.

Ennis has turned down a scholarship offer from Liverpool and now looks set to join either Manchester United or Chelsea. (Liverpool Echo)

Despite being 16, Ennis has been a key figure in the Liverpool U18 setup and now looks to be moving on.

Ennis posted to his Instagram story a while ago that he had in fact visited Cobham, sparking the rumours that he may be on his way to the Blues.

Dan Coombs on Twitter: "Had been suggested Liverpool youngster Ethan Ennis could sign for United. Appears he is off to Chelsea instead...… "

Armando Broja

After a good loan spell at Vitesse, Broja has reportedly agreed to a new five-year deal with the Blues. This will mean Broja’s new deal will last until 2026. (Fabrizio Romano)

With many youth players snubbing new deals in the last few months at Chelsea, this long term contract could inspire the likes of Tino Livramento to sign a new deal with the club.

Myles Peart-Harris

Football London reported today that Peart-Harris will leave Chelsea in the next few days and join a Premier League side.

Peart-Harris is apart of the trio that have rejected new contracts with Chelsea. (Lewis Bate, Tino Livramento and himself)

Dynel Simeu

Simeu’s contract expired last month and he rejected a two-year contract from Chelsea. Simeu is understood to have agreed a deal with a Premier League side.

Raphael Varane

Marca have reported that Chelsea are ‘heavily interested’ in signing Raphael Varane.

With Guehi departing and Chelsea centre backs not signing deals with contracts running out soon, the centre back ordeal may be underestimated.

To try and pry Varane away from the clutches of Manchester United would be an immeasurable task, considering they have reportedly agreed personal terms and a fee for the Frenchman.

Ike Ugbo

Sport Witness have released a report today claiming that West Ham have joined the race for Ugbo.

Countless European clubs have reportedly been interested in the 22-year-old and a fee of around £5m-£10m has been discussed but Ugbo remains at Chelsea for the time being.

Ugbo featured in the second half of todays pre-season friendly against Peterborough which likely means a deal that would see him move away from Stamford Bridge is still quite far away.

Olivier Giroud

Giroud today completed his move to AC Milan.

The deal is supposed to include “significant add-ons”. These add-ons have not been reported as of yet but we presume they are performance based or achievement based.

Marc Guehi

The 20-year-old centre back was seen holding up the Crystal Palace shirt next to Palace manager Patrick Viera.

This all but confirms the deal that sees Guehi move away from his boyhood club.

Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku

The Athletic reported that “should Chelsea concede defeat in their pursuit of Erling Haaland, then making one more attempt to re-sign Romelu Lukaku will be on their agenda”.

This same source told that “Romelu Lukaku has always felt that there is a case of ‘unfinished business’ at Chelsea”.

The source continued: “However, senior figures at Chelsea were surprised by reports suggesting they believe a bid of £150 million would be enough to land Haaland this summer as they are of the view that Dortmund have no interest in selling him this window”.

Harry Kane

The Athletic have reported that “Chelsea would also like to sign Kane and have sought to establish his intentions. Some industry sources believe that might be more appealing to Levy because a cash-plus-player deal involving players such as Tammy Abraham, for example, may be more realistic in terms of affordability and positional requirements than what City could offer”.

The idea of Levy selling Kane to London rivals has always prevented any advanced rumours but the option of including Tammy Abraham in the deal might persuade him.

Henry Lawrence

Henry Lawrence looks set to join Wigan on loan, following in the footsteps of the similarly versatile Reece James. (The Sun)

The 19-year-old going to Wigan could be the blossoming of a healthy relationship between the Latics and the Blues. And with the influx of youth stars at Cobham ready for senior football, Wigan could become a common place to send our youngsters.

Robert Lewandowski

Chelsea are ready to try and swoop in for Lewandowski in a £50m deal. (The Sun)

Seemingly failing with every move to try and lure Haaland away from Dortmund, we seem to have looked to Dortmund’s rivals Bayern Munich to try and bring their 32-year-old goal scorer to Stamford Bridge.

His age is noted as a potential issue but Lewandowski’s numbers just seem to get better and better with age. Signing Lewandowski is a massive risk and depending on how badly Roman Abramovich and Thomas Tuchel deem we need a new striker will determine whether we bring in Lewa.

Conor Gallagher

Chelsea will allow Conor Gallagher to leave on loan for the upcoming season. (The Sun)

Crystal Palace and Newcastle will be the two main teams battling for the cntral midfielder.

Chelsea are not looking to sell the 21-year-old and feel another loan will be beneficial in his career and help him to establish a place in the team in the next few seasons.

Marc Guehi

At around 12pm today, an exclusive and unexpected report was released by The Athletic regarding promising centre back Marc Guehi.

The report said that Crystal Palace are close to completing the permanent signing of highly-rated Chelsea defender Marc Guehi on a five-year contract, with the England Under-21 international having a medical today. This news seemingly came out of nowhere and shocked many Chelsea fans with the news that it is a permanent deal and not a loan.

This source continued to claim that “the offer was too good to refuse”. The reported fee is around £15m-£20m however Crystal Palace and Chelsea would prefer to keep the fee ‘under wraps’.

Chelsea have managed to negotiate a sell-on clause and matching rights on a future move.

Guehi attracted serious attention from other Premier League clubs and the Bundesliga but many of these sides had a preference of a loan with an option to buy, whereas Palace were ready to splash the cash outright on the Englishman.

Southampton, Brentford, Norwich, West Ham and Newcastle, Borussia Monchengladbach, Stuttgart, Bayer Leverkusen were other potential destinations listed for Guehi.

Olivier Giroud

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Giroud is now an offical AC Milan player. The paperwork is signed and his medical will be tomorrow. Official announcement pending, probably tomorrow or on the weekend if medical is successful. His contract is until 2023 with the Rossoneri.

Tammy Abraham

According to The Telegraph, Tammy Abraham has attracted interest from Arsenal. Abraham has also been made available to Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur, which suggests Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane are still on Chelsea’s radar.

Chelsea reportedly value Abraham at £40m and would like to offload the 23-year-old before purchasing a big-money signing.

Arsenal are likely to need to sell players to get near Chelsea’s asking price. Our rivals from North London would be open to offers for Alexandre Lacazette as his contract is due to expire next summer.

West Ham cannot afford the £40m asking price and Leicester (who were also linked) have signed Patson Daka instead of pursuing a deal for Abraham.

Erling Haaland

Two conflicting reports have come out today regarding Erling Haaland.

Firstly, Sky Sports in Germany suggested that the Blues offered Tammy Abraham or Callum Hudson-Odoi in part-exchange for Haaland. However, sources close to Hudson-Odoi have claimed he will not be part of a deal for Haaland.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted just one hour later to dispute these claims and say that “Borussia Dortmund have not received any official bid yet for Haaland. BVB know about Chelsea interest, their position is clear: if a “crazy” bid won’t arrive, he’ll stay”.

This completely contradicts earlier reports and leaves many people to wonder what is going on behind the scenes between the two clubs.

It’s blatant to say that if we won’t sign Haaland this summer, we will never see him in a Chelsea shirt.

Simon Stone (BBC Sport) has been told “no official bid for Erling Haaland from Chelsea but even if they did, they would be wasting their time as BVB has no interest in selling”.

The talks between Chelsea and BVB are informal and no proper bid has been sent over yet regarding Haaland.

Due to Chelsea already looking to offer players to BVB we can assume a big money bid will be incoming soon.

Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku’s agent has come out today and stated that “There’s absolutely no problem with Inter. Romelu is on holiday”. Inter Milan consider Lukaku ‘untouchable’ and with the sale of Hakimi, they have absolutely no reason to sell one of their most prized assets.

Alfonso Pedraza

Will Faulks (via Chelsea-News) has exclusively reported today that Chelsea have “serious interest” in the Villarreal wing back Alfonso Pedraza. With the sale of Emerson and Alonso reported to occur this summer, Chelsea would be in the market for a suitable backup at left back.

Pedraza has a similar playing style to Chilwell which means he would seamlessly step in when Chilwell is injured or in cup games.

Pedraza is 25 and according to the report, Villarreal will not demand a large fee for the Spaniard. It is likely he will receive a large pay rise upon his move to Stamford Bridge and will be aware of his playing status.

Pedraza has been linked with Chelsea before and it is certain the board and/or Tuchel believe he is capable of backing up Ben Chilwell.

Davide Zappacosta

Zappacosta is considered a target for Inter Milan. Their first choice for the right back spot is Hector Bellerin but Zappacosta is seen as their second choice. SempreInter have been reporting that Zappacosta has stayed a target of theirs for a while.

Inter are fans of his Serie A performances in loan spells with Roma and Genoa and are looking to bring him in on a permanent deal.

Conor Gallagher

Crystal Palace are also looking to secure a loan signing of Conor Gallagher this summer according to The Athletic.

With a lot of Palace players contracts running out this summer, they are looking to strengthen the midfield with high quality loan signings.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

TheSecretScout has today confirmed that Hudson-Odoi will be staying an England player despite rumours of him switching his nation to Ghana.

Can Marc Guehi Break Into The Senior Team Next Season?

With the imminent departure of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea, the lack of young defenders from the academy ready for first team football is sparse. The likes of Xavier Mbuyamba and Dynel Simeu have been proven at the U23 level, however their lack of first team football and senior experience greatly reduces their chance at featuring for the first team in any capacity. Chelsea have four centre backs in the senior squad for now and the formation we are now playing in seems to include three centre backs. Azpilicueta has been featuring in the right centre back role, which sums up how much Tuchel trusts his centre backs to do a job. A player with experience at a fairly high level and with bundles of talent could be the spark needed to encourage performances to improve.

Marc Guehi fits the spectrum of this kind of player perfectly. The 20 year old is currently on loan to Swansea, who impressively sit 3rd place in the Sky Bet Championship. This season Marc has played 25 times for Swansea in the league (starting all of these 25 matches). Helping the Swans to 12 clean sheets as of this moment. Guehi has also amassed 1.7 interceptions per game, 1.8 tackles per game and 2.8 clearances per game. The Englishman is unlike the other loanees from Chelsea in the championship regarding minutes. Compared to Jake Clarke-Salter, who is also on loan in the Championship with Birmingham, Guehi has played over 1600 minutes more. Guehi only featured twice for the senior blues before his move and he started and played 90 minutes in both of these appearances. Although these games were in the EFL Cup last year, he proved he could perform at the highest level as he played admirably against Manchester United in a controversial 2-1 loss at Stamford Bridge.

Guehi is on the shorter side of centre backs in comparison to the rest of the Championship and for most leagues in general. Standing at around 5″10, Marc definitely is not known for his size and aerial abilities. However, for what he lacks in height he certainly makes up for it in speed, anticipation and versatility. His concentration and awareness are main parts of his game and severely outweigh his lack of aerial dominance.

Marc’s tactical versatility and ability to play anywhere across the backline could be of massive benefit to Chelsea. At just 20 years old, the range of different positions Guehi has featured in throughout his career is astounding. This season, Guehi has been featuring mainly as a left sided centre back in a 3 at the back formation. This is impressive as Guehi feels comfortable and is trusted enough on the left side of the defence, despite being right footed. Being able to play a wide variety of positions is useful to everyone and proves that he has the ability to play right at the top level.

At Swansea, Marc is being managed by Steve Cooper. Steve was Guehi’s manager for the infamous England U17 World Cup winning team in 2017. Cooper has a great understanding of Guehi’s ability and puts a lot of trust in these skills. Guehi also scored the final goal in a 5-2 drubbing of Spain’s U17 in the final to secure the trophy.

Having played 28 times this season in the Championship, Swansea have conceded the fewest amount of goals this season at just 15 and also have the most amount of clean sheets, also at 16. A whopping 57% of Swansea’s matches this season in the championship have resulted in a clean sheet for Swansea. There is no doubt that acquiring Guehi on loan this season was tremendous business by the Swans as he has helped massively by starting in over 88% of their Championship matches.

Guehi has played with numerous different players within the two other centre back slots this season. Steve Cooper is very indecisive about his defensive options and struggles to pick the same three centre backs consistently. However, Guehi has solidified his place in the starting lineup due to his impressive performances. Guehi’s defensive partner at the start of the season was Joe Rodon. He found a move away from the Swans to Chelsea rivals Tottenham. Rodon has found himself on the brink of starting and has featured in the Premier League 7 times this season. Marc has also featured alongside other Premier League veterans in Ryan Bennett and Kyle Naughton during his ongoing spell at Swansea. The experienced gained from long time professionals and defenders with Premier League game time could be vital to Guehi’s development and future as a Premier League defender.

Marc Guehi will be coming back from Swansea with a wealth of great experience and solid minutes in a tough league under his belt, hopefully gearing him up for fighting for a place in the Chelsea team. Many people seem to think that Marc Guehi is “the best defender in the Championship” and it will be an exciting challenge I’m sure he’s ready for, to compete in the biggest league in the world.

We can assume that Ethan Ampadu, currently on loan at Sheffield United, will also be returning to Stamford Bridge along with Guehi and I personally think they have a high chance of playing some regular football next season. Ampadu has also been utilised in the left side of a back 3 (similarly to Guehi) this season after a dip in performances in the defensive midfield role.

Tuchel has already proven 3 games into his reign that he is not scared to play the youth and introduce them when he feels they are ready. Tuchel was a main part of Christian Pulisic’s uprising at Dortmund and hopefully he can utilise the talent that Guehi evidently has and turn him into a great Premier League centre back. Guehi’s ability on the ball could also be a driving factor in the amount of minutes he plays as Tuchel has made it obvious that he is not a fan of Zouma’s technical ability, especially on the ball.

It will be important for the club and Guehi himself that we avoid another Fikayo Tomori situation. Losing another young, promising centre back that excelled in the championship could be a big blow to a whole range of factors. Many of the centre backs coming through the ranks in our academy will feel that they are not going to get the chance to play for the first team regularly if we fail to incorporate Marc into our first team setup, following the demise of Tomori at Chelsea.

Guehi’s loan at Swansea expires at the end of the season, hopefully giving him the chance to adjust to Tuchel’s philosophy throughout pre season and get used to his team mates. If Chelsea fail to sign Upamecano, Boateng or fail to recall Tomori, Guehi should definitely be given the chance to prove himself in the Premier League.
